Production Lab Technician

POSITION SUMMARY???


Wine/Vinegar Technician at Mizkan America, Inc. Sodus, NY 14551 Responsible for all elements of the winemaking process to finished vinegar products to include Apple, Corn, Malt and Red Wine. This includes all elements of batching, fermentation, acetation and filtration. This position is responsible for the quality assurance and brand standards of Mizkan America, Inc. Vinegars while meeting company, GFSI and government regulatory standards. This position will oversee all fermentation, laboratory, Acetation and Filtration of Bulk produced Vinegars on premises reporting to Production Manager.??


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS??



  • Responsible for the overall operation including, lab analysis, batching of concentrated materials to product specifications, fermentation to wine, acetation to vinegar and final filtration ready for Bulk shipping.??

  • Manage inventories of raw materials adhering to schedules while meeting quality requirements, product specifications & regulatory requirements to packaging schedules. Generate and coordinate daily movement orders, execution of daily production schedules, lab entries within the department.??

  • Participate and be a member of company quality assurance team; oversee receiving, prioritization, processing and fermentation of all bulk concentrate.??

  • Ability to use all wine processing equipment, including but not limited to, filters, pumps, press, bottling equipment, etc.??

  • Responsible for the quality control of all wines, vinegar, packaging, and storage.??

  • Develop and maintain a Winery Training Program to ensure all production staff are following correct Food Safety protocols, GMP and safety protocols.

  • Supervise organization and sanitation in all winemaking/Vinegar spaces, tank/barrel area , enter daily computer records of bulk wine/vinegar inventory, and reconcile to physical inventory.

  • Prepare weekly bulk inventory reports for use in TTB and TABC tax statements.


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS



  • B.S. degree in Fermentation Science, Food Science or a field of related degree/production or experience in a related field

  • Knowledge of fundamentals of wine production, wine chemistry, lab analysis techniques, viticulture

  • Ability to work independently as well as with coworkers and perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the company?s values

  • Willing to work flexible and extended hours as needed, and as required, be on call 24 hours per day as it relates to emergencies and wine quality issues

  • Computer proficiency: MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint

  • Math proficiency: ratios, percentages, fraction, algebra

  • Proficient in English reading/writing/communication

  • Experienced in writing business correspondence, reports, procedure manuals

  • Required to lift and move product/equipment weighing up to 50 lbs


 

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
